Hello! My name is Joy and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oklahoma since 2001. I provide a range of mental health services primarily using evidence-based therapies that are individualized for adolescents and adults. My areas of expertise include working with individuals who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties including Worry, Mood Disorders, Behavioral Disorders, Substance Abuse/Addiction, Developmental Disorders, and Trauma.
I am a strong believer in joining with individuals to help them identify, process, and make changes in their lives. I consider it an honor that people share their lives with me. I am excited to expand my services again in providing private practice services in our community.
My experience in the mental health field is varied and extensive. After I received my master’s degree in Community Counseling from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1998, I have worked in a variety of settings. Most of my professional experiences have been serving children, adolescents, and families at the Central Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center. Among my roles at COCMHC, I developed crisis intervention skills within the Systems of Care program where I held a leadership position with the Mobile Crisis Program for Youth.
Licensure: Licensed Professional Counselor, Oklahoma, 2001 to present.
